Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery that happened on the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys on Monday. The robbery led to shots being fired from car to car, which caused traffic to back up for hours.
It happened on northbound I-405, north of Victory Boulevard, just after 3 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was robbed on city streets, and when the two suspects got into a car and drove away, the victim followed them. According to CHP, the pursuit proceeded to the interstate, where both automobiles crashed.
That’s when one of the suspects opened fire on the victim, who was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The next day, based on what witnesses said, the CHP got two search warrants for two homes in Lancaster. The two suspects, later named Elijah Allen Green, 24, and Jaiden Allen Green, 18, both of Lancaster, lived in the homes.
Elijah Allen Green is being held on a $1 million bail, while Jaiden Allen Green is being held on a $750,000 bail.
