The government agency, which has a large presence in Ogden, is hiring for 5,000 positions across three service processing facilities in Ogden, Austin, and Kansas City. According to Raphael Tulino, an IRS spokeswoman, more than 1,000 of the positions are for IRS locations in the Ogden region.

He stated, “It’s a significant thing.” A large-scale recruitment effort like this is “certainly not the norm.”

In-person job fairs will be held at the Utah Department of Workforce Services office in Clearfield, 1290 E. 1450 South, on Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day as part of the endeavour.

IRS representatives will assess resumes and make employment offers to qualified applicants on the spot.

According to an IRS press release, the positions to be filled are intended to assist taxpayers throughout tax season, and hirees will likely begin working within 30-45 days after receiving job offers.
