Last month, a 20-year-old man was killed while sitting on a bus bench in downtown Los Angeles, police said Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Police Department says that at 11:25 p.m. on Oct. 28, patrol officers heard a radio call about an assault with a deadly weapon. They found the victim, Pablo Aaron Garcia, on a sidewalk at Eighth and Union avenues with a gunshot wound.
Someone called for an ambulance. The Los Angeles Fire Department took care of Garcia’s injuries and took him to a hospital, where he died from his wounds.
Investigators say it looks like the suspect and victim got into a fight, and then the suspect went up to the victim as he was sitting on a bus bench and shot him.
There was no information about the suspect right away.
