“Our 211 Maryland call centre has always been busy during tax season, and this year is no different,” said Franklyn Baker, president and CEO of United Way of Central Maryland. “For our ALICE families in central Maryland, tax returns are critical – and last year’s Child Tax Credit provides an opportunity to help some of our friends catch up on past-due bills or rent.”

Because most ALICE households are qualified for the full CTC, United Way estimates that more than $238 million is still available to those families that are most in need.
