Fox News Reacts Strongly to Donald Trump’s Arraignment, Cries ‘Political War Crimes’
As Donald Trump was indicted a third time for attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Fox News became a forum for outrage.
After the vast indictment was handed down by a grand jury on Tuesday evening, the network’s presenters and guests did not hold back in their criticism of Special Counsel Jack Smith and his investigation.
Throughout the evening, numerous guests appeared on Fox News programs to defend Mr. Trump’s actions leading up to the attack on the Capitol on January 6 and to attempt to denigrate the indictment.
Mr. Trump was struck with four federal charges on Tuesday, alleging that he knew he had lost the presidential election but continued to attempt to challenge the results and adhere to power by mobilizing his supporters, fake electors, and litigation.

Fox News Presenters Downplay Former President’s Federal Charges
Despite the federal charges accusing the former president of conspiring to defraud the United States, a number of Fox News presenters minimized the gravity of the allegations.
Mr. Watters stated that these offenses are not significant. He stated, “It is a crime for a public official to knowingly make a false statement.”
“This is the first time, in the history of the United States, that the Justice Department has weaponized and politicized political speech.” former president’s attorney John Lauro said on Hannity.
Mr. Lauro then shifted the responsibility to Mr. Trump’s attorneys, claiming that the ex-president acted based on counsel.
The Trump 2024 campaign responded to the indictment by equating the United States to Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union and declaring that Donald Trump “will not be deterred by disgraceful and unprecedented political targeting.”
The charges announced on Tuesday mark the third time since leaving office that Mr. Trump has faced substantial criminal charges.
Additionally, he has been indicted for allegedly stockpiling and mishandling classified documents after departing the White House, as well as for allegedly conspiring to falsify business records relating to women who claimed to have had affairs with Mr. Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
This is the first time he has been criminally prosecuted for his actions while in office.
