Ex-head of Vaccine Taskforce: Stop Mass Injections and Treat Covid Like Flu

It’s been suggested that mass immunisation should halt after a booster shot is administered, and that Covid-19 be treated as an endemic virus similar to the flu.

It is Dr. Clive Dix’s opinion that the UK should focus on “halting the progression of serious disease among vulnerable groups.”

The current booster vaccine campaign has his backing, but he believes that “managing sickness, not virus propagation” is more important at this point.

His remarks come at a time when the United Kingdom has passed a dreadful milestone. A positive Covid test has resulted in more than 150,000 deaths since the pandemic began.

Last year, Dr. Dix announced his resignation as chairman of the government commission, saying that the UK needs a new approach to combating the Ebola virus.

To quote him: “Mass vaccination in the UK should now halt,” The Observer reported. To ensure that the vulnerable are safeguarded, we need to examine whether the present booster campaign can be used for this purpose.

To restore the “new normality,” he advocated for a shift in strategy.

This flu season, he argued, “we should think about how we halt testing, let people isolate, and then allow them to come back to work when they are healthy enough to do so.”

White blood cells, such as B-cells and T-cells (also known as white blood cells), might be utilised to develop vaccines against Covid strains, according to Mr. Dix, who asked ministers to promote research into Covid immunity beyond antibodies.

According to government data released on Saturday, 313 more people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, the greatest daily death toll since February of last year at this time.

Seven countries have reported more than 150,000 deaths worldwide: the United States, Brazil, India, Russia, Mexico, and Peru have all reached that milestone before the United Kingdom. Covid-19, according to the Prime Minister, has a “terrible toll.”

It’s “extremely awful,” according to Professor Andrew Hayward of the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies.

“I think we could have done better,” he said in an interview with BBC Radio 4’s PM show. I believe some of the deaths are even more heartbreaking because we could have prevented many of them in the first and second waves if we had acted sooner.

It comes at the same time as Moderna CEO Dr. David Dix indicated a fourth treatment may be necessary this fall when booster protection fades.

It is “absolutely impossible to foresee” if there would be another, more severe mutation, according to CEO Stephane Bancel, who warned that another variety might upend people’s lives again.

One study reveals a nearly 90% reduction in Omicron hospitalizations when booster shots are given.
