Covid-19 Hospitalizations Among Children in Michigan Are on the Rise. Keep Yourself Safe!
Covid-19 hospitalizations in the United States have doubled since last month.
COVID-19 has infected 96 children in Michigan and they are currently being treated in the hospital. This is the highest number of children hospitalized since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Doctors in the area claim that the Omicron variety is to blame for these symptoms.
According to research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Omicron strain is three times as contagious as the Delta strain. Even though most children won’t get sick, the virus can be devastating for those with weakened immune systems.
“I think we as a culture have let our guard down a little,” Dr. Rudolph Valentini of the Detroit Medical Center remarked.
In the opinion of Dr. Valentini, COVID-weary Americans are giving up on a fight that hasn’t yet been finished.
In the United States, there are about half a million new illnesses recorded every day, but the number of children falling ill has doctors raising the alarm.
‘Hospitalizations are 2 to 3 times more than they’ve ever been, says Dr. Rudolph Valentini.
Last week, 325,000 children were found to be infected with COVID.
There was a 64% increase in infections last week, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In the state of Michigan, 96 children with COVID were hospitalized due to their severe illnesses.
To put things in perspective, just 2% of pediatric COVID cases require medical attention.
“The vast majority of children will not need to be taken to the hospital, but there are children with chronic lung illness, those with asthma, and those with cystic fibrosis, as well as many other medical disorders that make them more susceptible to complications. As a result of their medical issues, people end up in the hospital as a result of a COVID infection “Dr. Valentini made the following statement.

About 1,045 children under the age of 18 have died as a result of COVID-19, according to the CDC. Obviously, this is a remote possibility, but Valentini advises parents to be extra cautious just in case.
His advice to parents and caregivers was simple: “Vaccinate everyone who can be vaccinated around the youngsters.” “If you’re 5 or older, you can get vaccinated, thus children less than 5 are at risk. They are your responsibility.”
According to Valentini, implementing these safety measures will help students stay in school.
However, if they are not feeling well, they should not be left alone “You need to keep them at home. Also, if anybody in the vicinity is contagious, stay as far away from them as possible to ensure the safety of the children.”
