According to the reports, Social Security payouts have increased by 55% over the past two decades because of the COLA increase. The cost of common necessities has risen dramatically during the past few years. The cost of housing and healthcare facilities has risen by 118% and 145%, respectively, over the past decade.

“We’ve heard from thousands of seniors who have spent their retirement savings,” TSCL chairman Rick Delaney was cited as saying by Marca in his article. Many people have written to say that they feel that our government has abandoned them. Providing Social Security recipients with a $1,400 stimulus check could provide them with additional non-taxable income.

The Standard Deviation of the Market Price

All prior records have been shattered by the rise in the cost of several goods. Market products’ prices have risen 6.2% since October 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The price of food has grown 5.3 percent, while the price of energy facilities has risen by 30 percent over the same period.
