An SUV Crashed Into a South Los Angeles Booze Store and Detonated, Killing a 15-year-old


Officials say that a 15-year-old boy was found dead early on Sunday morning after an SUV crashed into a liquor store in South Los Angeles and caught fire.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of West 54th Street near Vermont Square, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A Los Angeles Police Department official said that the driver and two other people in the car were able to get out of the wreckage.

From the truck, the flames spread through the one-story building until they reached the attic. The Fire Department says that 34 firefighters put out the fire in just under 30 minutes. The teen passenger’s body was found inside the SUV.

LAPD investigators say the driver was going north on 54th Street and trying to make a turn when the SUV went off the road and hit the building.

Right away, no one was arrested or given a ticket. The cause of the crash is still being looked into, according to the authorities.
