After a chase on Chicago’s North Side early Sunday morning, police caught a person suspected of kidnapping, officials said.
At 2:38 a.m., officials said, Illinois State Police helped Chicago police find a silver Ford Festiva that was wanted in a kidnapping case. ISP troopers came to help and followed the vehicle until they lost sight of it.
Officials say that ISP troopers found the car again and tried to stop it. The Festiva took off, but it stopped in the Near North Side neighborhood.
The driver was then chased on foot by police officers.
The driver was taken into custody, and the person who was allegedly taken was found at the scene.
The police didn’t say anything else right away about what happened.
