A Fresno Man and Woman Have Been Charged With Killing a Mother and a Baby
Yarelly Solorio-Rivera and Martin Arroyo-Morales were charged Monday by the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.
They are suspected of murdering Yanelly Solorio-Rivera, 18, and her 3-week-old daughter, Celine Solorio-Rivera.
On September 24, the two victims were murdered in their southwest Fresno home.
Yanelly’s older sister is Yarelly, and Arroyo-Morales is Yarelly’s lover. On November 9, the two suspects were apprehended.
Prosecutors said Monday that they suspect Yarelly fired the revolver that murdered her sister and infant niece.
Yarelly and Arroyo-Morales were charged with two counts of murder and a special circumstance of multiple murders, respectively.
Yarelly is facing two enhancements for “intentional and personal discharge of a firearm resulting in death.”
Yarelly Solorio-Rivera and Martin Arroyo-Morales risk life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death sentence if convicted of all counts.
The District Attorney’s Office is debating whether to seek the death sentence and will make a decision soon.
The arraignment of Solorio-Rivera and Arroyo-Morales is set for November 15.
