Isn’t it nice to have an additional $2,000 a month? A Denver restaurateur, Stephanie Bonin, says that. For the last two years, Bonin has been campaigning for $2,000 monthly stimulus cheques for all Americans through a Change.org petition. In a recent report by CNBC, this petition has garnered more than three million signatures.

“”We just need assurance,” I believe 3 million people are saying. ‘We need to be able to prepare for the months to come,’ “CNBC was informed by Bonin.

“It’s been a rough few months for our country. Unemployment among low-wage employees is estimated at over 20 percent, and many Americans are still struggling to pay off massive debts accrued in previous years for items like electricity, rent, and child care.

As a result of these factors, checks should be sent to those who are still struggling, and Congress should take note of what has happened in the last year “Bonin penned a petition signature on behalf of the group.

So, when will we finally be able to relax? There are some encouraging developments, but there are also some concerning ones.

The IRS Seems To Be The Only Hope

Is the ordinary American family going to be better off as a result of this? The American Rescue Plan tax credit was raised to $3,000 from $2,000 for the 2021 tax year, however this was only valid until 2022. From July until December, the first half of the tax credit was paid out in monthly instalments of $300 for children under the age of six.

Each month, those households with children between the ages of 6 and 17 received $250. A lump sum payment for the second half will be made when households file their tax returns for 2021 in spring.

That means money is on the way for people with children. Taxpayers will likely get their remaining 2022 tax credit payments as refunds, but this is troubling because the IRS has stated that delays are expected.

People who are either retired or do not have children may be wondering: Are you stranded in the midst of soaring costs? As many programmes have closed, your alternatives have become increasingly limited. The best thing we can do is sign this petition and tell our elected officials that we need greater help right now.
